We made a day of it by exploring the local neighborhood and beach area of Corona Del Mar. It's not the largest garden and it's not going to be the first thing you'll visit if you're a tourist, but it's a lovely day trip for locals in the Southern California region. If you look on their website, the garden offers so much more including classes, events, garden parties, festivals, summer camps, art displays, weddings, lectures, plant shows and programs for kids. In the back is the library which has limited hours and wasn't open the day we were there. Oh and don't forget 'Gnomewoodland'! Within a few minutes of arriving, we were lucky enough to catch a volunteer docent-led tour which helped to point out names of things, reasons behind certain displays and a little bit of history of Sherman Library & Gardens. We parked in the adjacent lot (or there's street parking), paid at the booth ($5, Spring 2023) and entered into a floral and fauna wonderland. (Really just the gardens since the library was closed). We drove an hour-and-a-half to visit Sherman Library & Gardens in Corona Del Mar, near Newport Beach.
